  • #31: The Millennial Traveler

    05/07/2017 Duração: 10min

The inspiration for this video came from my recent travels in the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. My girlfriend wants to see all the national parks in America, and damnit so do I! So she and I took a long weekend trip to the mountains and had a hell of a time. But most importantly (why this pertains to the podcast) we ran into some pretty awesome guests. The Appalachian Trail runs through the park, and we were fortunate enough to hike a few of the miles of it. For those that may not know, the Appalachian Trail or AT for short is a roughly 2200 mile hike traversing the Appalachian mountain trail. People will take months to hike this or hike it in sections through day trips. We ran into some people that quit their jobs to do it, so this got me thinking… how can millennials make the most out of their traveling and how does personal finance fit into this? Well Drunken Money will answer these questions in our episode today entitled the millennial traveler.

  • #26 Startup Weekend: Wake up a Winner with Phil Brun

    24/05/2017 Duração: 50min

On the weekend of April 7-9, I participated in Startup Weekend in my hometown of Louisville. Startup Weekend is a summer camp meets shark tank. In just 54 ideas, you turn an idea into a business all in the effort to impress the judges and win funding. And while my startup idea did not win, I was fortunate enough to meet and become quick friends with the winning team, and their founder Phil Brun. Phil Brun started LifeBit, which is a wearable technology that can alert people with hearing disabilities to fire alarms and obviously save lives. Phil is an incredible salesman, business, and overall person. In just the small time I've known him, he's taught me so much about business and sales, and I'm pretty sure I have about 20 new quotes all from just this podcast. That's why I was ecstatic to have him on our show, and I can't wait to hear YOUR thoughts about the episode.
