It is "Fervor to Defend." Fervor to defend what? It is the fervor to defend the honor of God. David, who had already proved faithful in his duties before God and man, now heads to defend the honor of God and His people. Conquerors are men and women who have faith, who have overcome their fears, and have a clear focus on God. The conqueror has come to understand that to be a conqueror, they will face the enemy to defend the honor of God. Many Christians like to pray for strength, but what they fail to realize is where that strength comes from. The reason why many of us are not conquerors is because our focus is always on what happens to us. James W. Kennedy said, "What's really interesting is what happens in us, not what happens to us.
