Award-winning author Michael D'Orso has co-written a new book, "Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them," with actor/environmental advocate Ted Danson ("Cheers"). The book is packed with photos, charts and interviews with scientists, fishing boat captains and those working to help the vast bodies of water called oceans.     Despite being shot four times, Colin Goddard is one of the few survivors of the Virginia Tech shootings in Norris Hall four years ago. After a long and difficult recovery, he began volunteering with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the nation's largest gun control organization. On Tuesday's program, Colin joins Cathy to talk about his work as an advocate for victims of gun violence, which took him on an undercover investigation of the gun industry.

Historian and author John Quarstein reveals the stories in his newest book, "The Monitor Boys." Quarstein joins us in studio to talk about his new book about the men who risked everything by going to sea in the celebrated "cheesebox on a raft" and became the hope of a nation wracked by war. Seg. B - Into the Deep: America, Whaling, and the World Also scheduled to join us, documentary filmmaker and writer Ric Burns.
