    10/05/2020 Duração: 01h25min

Easy as ABC, we'll have some good vibrations and some sweeeet sensations as we tackle the question on raising a child and if it takes a village. Our guest for The Village is back again to discuss the Marky Mark and the Brady Bunch film, "Instant Family" as our Mother's Day lockdown episode. It's our friend, the lovely, Rachel Kennerly of "Cannabis Heals Me" joining us for this conversation.A married couple, Pete and Ellie Wagner, decide to adopt Lizzy, a teenager. However, life turns challenging when they realise Lizzy has two more siblings.Join us next week as Captain A joins us to talk about, and take apart, "The Platform".Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/180Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. • Episode 179 - Napoleon Dynamite (1:12:19)

    03/05/2020 Duração: 01h12min

One of my favorite movies tonight, Napoleon Dynamite. We are joined by a man with some great skills. Bo staff skills. Computer hacking skills. Entrepreneurship skills. It's Miguel Duque of Amagi Entrepreneurs. We will answer the question of if the chickens have large talons in this flippin' sweet episode where we don't forget to put in the crystals. In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico (Jon Gries), shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro (Efren Ramirez), a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president.Things start getting pretty serious on this episode as we move 8,000 chickens to their new cages for like a dollar an hour.Join us next week for a Mother's Day episode with the great, Rachel Kennerly o

  • Episode 178 - Kick-Ass (1:12:32)

    26/04/2020 Duração: 01h12min

We are about to kick some ass on Kick-Ass with our kickass guest, Raylene Lightheart and she makes her return to the show to talk about everyday people becoming heroes and some of the consequences therein.Using his love for comics as inspiration, teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) decides to reinvent himself as a superhero -- despite a complete lack of special powers. Dave dons a costume, dubs himself "Kick-Ass," and gets to work fighting crime. He joins forces with the father/daughter vigilante team of Big Daddy and Hit Girl, then befriends another fledgling crime-fighter called Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), but a scheming mobster soon puts their alliance to the test.Join us next week as we vote for Pedro with Miguel Duque for like a dollar an hour to talk about "Napoleon Dynamite".Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/178Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. • Episode 177 - Soylent Green (1:13:52)

    19/04/2020 Duração: 01h13min

We jump ahead a few years with returning guest, Dr. Dennis Foster, and see what more than two years of quarantine might do to a city and a people. 2022, New York City - 40 million people are living on top of each other after the scares of overpopulation and global warming myth become reality. That’s right, we're doing a back-to-back Richard Burton vs. Chuck Heston - battle royale - this time for all the marbles. In a densely overpopulated, starving New York City of the future, NYPD detective Robert Thorn (Charlton Heston) investigates the murder of an executive at rations manufacturer Soylent Corporation. With the help of elderly academic Solomon "Sol" Roth (Edward G. Robinson), Thorn begins to make real progress -- until the governor mysteriously pulls the plug. Obsessed with the mystery, Thorn steps out from behind the badge and launches his own investigation into the murder. This one hits home and is more relevant than ever as things we thought impossible are rapidly becoming our new reality and way of lif

  • Episode 176 - The Robe (1:29:30)

    12/04/2020 Duração: 01h29min

We did "The Passion of the Christ" last year telling the story of the Crucifixion, this year is an appropriate continuation of that story as we get some of the periphery and aftermath as we talk about "The Robe" with the Anarcho-Christian.In this biblical epic, a drunk and disillusioned Roman, Marcellus Gallio (Richard Burton), wins Jesus' robe in a dice game after the crucifixion. Marcellus has never been a man of faith like his slave, Demetrius (Victor Mature), but when Demetrius escapes with the robe, Marcellus experiences disturbing visions and feels guilty for his actions. Convinced that destroying the robe will cure him, Marcellus sets out to find Demetrius -- and discovers his Christian faith along the way. There's a strong anti-state message against the tyrant Caligula at the end, for which the sentence is death. We're doing a back-to-back Richard Burton vs. Chuck Heston - battle royale as we do "Soylent Green" next week for Earf Day with Dr. Dennis Foster.Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/176P

  • Episode 175 - Snowpiercer (1:09:42)

    05/04/2020 Duração: 01h09min

C’mon and ride the train and ride it. Eugenics to control the balance of the population to allocate resources. Caste-class with no mobility. False flag and manipulation on the grand chessboard to control the narrative into a believable story like in the Matrix. We bring on Olof the Anarcho-Viking to take on this tail of class warfare and bioengineering gone wrong. We’ll be back next week to do an egg hunt of an Easter episode with the Anarcho Christian as we discuss the Richard Burton classic, “The Robe”.Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/175Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. • Episode 174 - Police Story (1:25:30)

    29/03/2020 Duração: 01h25min

This is what a Police Story looks like. We get a view of Hong Kong in the 80's back when the police had quaint levels of authority. Sharply contrast that with the jackboot tactics of late that have stifled protest and dissent. We invite Shaine Scalph of HAPA Supremacy / What’s HAPAning to discuss the Jackie Chan action-classic, "Police Story". An honest Hong Kong cop protecting a Triad boss's girlfriend-turned-informer, finds himself framed for the murder of a dirty cop and going on the run. The movie mixes slapstick with wild stunts and features some painful outtakes during the final credits.Join us next week as we hop on the train to egalitarianism and talk about “Snowpiercer” with Olof the Anarcho-Viking.Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/174Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. • Episode 172 - Edge of Darkness (1:11:44)

    16/03/2020 Duração: 01h11min

Just in case there wasn't enough toxic masculinity last week, we are going to up the dose tonight as we discuss the "Edge of Darkness" with the Professional Asshole. When the only daughter of a Boston homicide detective, Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson), is shot on his doorstep, everyone assumes that he was the intended target. Then evidence suggests otherwise, and Craven sets out to find her killer and, in the process, uncovers her secret life, corporate coverups, government collusion, and murder.Mel Gibson plays the same role he often plays as an aggrieved man seeking justice for something done wrong to a family member. The old man's still got it in this one that marks his return to acting after a bit of an unplanned hiatus. We’ll talk about whistle-blowers, trusting the politicians and the false flags on this one - it gets a little spicy, but nothing our audience can't handle.Join us next week, if we're still around, to talk about another virus and the panic that ensued from it when we talk about HIV and AIDS fo

  • Episode 171 - The Last of the Mohicans (1:00:21)

    08/03/2020 Duração: 01h20s

We reach way back into Elizabeth Warren’s family tree to the colonial period in America. After our recent episode tracking the course of disease from Bats in Australia for “Batman” through the pandemic spreading across the land in “Contagion”, now it’s time to break out the Smallpox blankets for Michael Mann’s take on “The Last of the Mohicans”.The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas (Eric Schweig), his father Chingachgook (Russell Means), and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters (Madeleine Stowe, Jodhi May) of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.Just in case that wasn’t enough toxic masculinity for you, we’ll be sure to double-up next week as we bring back the Professional Asshole to discuss the Mel Gibson flick, “Edge of Darkness

  • Episode 170 - Contagion (1:22:08)

    01/03/2020 Duração: 01h22min

We are joined by Raylene Lightheart and her lesser-half to talk about the movie "Contagion" about a global pandemic that some have mistaken as footage of current events. This should be a healthy discussion on a serious topic that will be both thought-provoking and entertaining. With the COVID-19 Coronavirus seemingly creating a panic worldwide where even Costcos in the US are having trouble keeping up with demand, it's a timely movie to be discussing. There is this weird mix of withholding and downplaying information to what appears to be fear-mongering and the use of the handling of the "crisis" as a bludgeon against the opposing sides in an already testy election cycle.Join us next week as we welcome back to the stage, Mr. Mike C. to discuss yet another Michael Mann film, "The Last of the Mohicans".Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/170Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. • Episode 169 - Batman (1:21:29)

    23/02/2020 Duração: 01h21min

It’s hard to believe it was over 30 years ago that this movie kicked off the comic book movie era once again (and nearly killed it a few sequels later). We are of course talking about Tim’ Burton’s Batman from 1989.We bring back Shaheen, our man from Adelaide for this one as he is our go-to for all things Batman and DCEU.Set the scene: the last time we see Batman and Joker on screen, it's Adam West and Cesar Romero surfing with sharks that Fonzie later jumped over, anti-shark spray in the campy 60's TV show. Then you've got the director of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure making a film starring Mr. Mom as Barman, and of the the great actors of his generation dictating his own shooting schedule complete with top-billing. To say people were concerned would be an understatement.Next week, we come down with something as we bring back Raylene Lightheart and her lesser-half for a discussion of “Contagion”.Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/169Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies fr

The pirates are after millions of dollars, and Phillips must use his wits to make sure everyone survives and returns home safely.Join us next week on this same bat-channel, at this same bat-time as we bring back Shaheen to discuss Tim Burton's "Batman" from 1989 starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/168Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. We talk about the Matthew McConaughey movie, "Gold" with Jared Wall of Breaking Liberty. He was our guest recently for the Breaking Bad movie, “El Camino” and he suggested this one while we were doing that episode. “Gold” is an unbelievable story based on true events, and it gets more fantastical at every turn, and even includes helicopter rides. We invite back Rachel Kennerly of "Cannabis Heals Me" to discuss M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village". The movie has the expected twist that has become on of Shyamalan's tropes, however, I think the twist we will have on this will be even better. The premise of the movie will give us plenty of fodder for discussion as we get into instilling fear to maintain control as the benevolent overseers infantilize the populace for their own good, the greater good - or do they?Join us next week as Scott Morrison returns to talk about "Enemy at the Gates".Show notes: http://www.actualanarchy.com/161Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.comRobert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking.
