Digital Strips

Sure, we feature our take on the tired format of American pageants, but we have too much webcomics talk (yes, webcomics!) in this episode to focus on frivolous topics. Jason caught up with Gun Show and checked out Expecting to Fly, while Steve recommends Happy Jar and Lake Gary. After a bit of news involving Jason Shiga's Demon and The Legend of Bill, we leap right into a review of Jumping Boy. We're bounding about with joy, so slap on your magic goggles and join us!

People in our circles typically follow the gadget world pretty closely. For our podcast, that assumption would be half right. Listen to Jason tell Steve about all the devices he'll be pining for in the next year! Marvel as Steve couldn't give less of a crap! All this, plus a sad tale of misaligned brotherhood and our first of many forays into the deep, dark area of space that encompasses Howard Tayler's long-running classic, Schlock Mercenary.

Jason celebrated a birthday and, in the process, lost his dang mind. That's why you get Monsterkind (previously featured as a Horizons Watch pick) as his Whatcha Been Readin choice, while Steve keeps it real with a new pick, Itchy Feet. Composure is regained as the guys talk about their brand-new Horizons picks, Tenko King and Tove. If it feels like it's all happened before … well, maybe that's just you?

Ever wonder what it might sound like if Steve recorded his end of the show from the International Space Station? Wonder no more! This unfortunate happenstance is only with us for the first segment, however, where the guys discuss 70 Seas, Latchkey Kingdom, and Viktor and Jayce. Things stabilize for the second segment, which features a review of the space-hopping fun in Galacticat. Watch the meter and no credit cards, please.

This episode is largely a publicity stunt, but it also seeks to do some good. When not talking about dumping ice on themselves, Steve and Jason chat briefly about the fantasy pro-wrestling comic, King Maul and the space opera, Terra. When that conversation is concluded, it's time to dive into more fantasy, this time with a focus on … well, it's kind of hard to explain. While Jason tries to recall his passwords, Steve steers things towards professionalism. Don't worry, it doesn't work out. What DOES work out, though, is our brief thoughts on Tove and Star Bunny before we offer our final opinions on Digger. It'd odd that Jason has checked out a comic about a cat cabbie (catbie?) titled Galacticat, and it's straight-up bizarre that Steve picked something easily pronounceable in Dungeon Grind. For our review, we settle in alongside new friends and mysterious circumstances with Albert the Alien. Come on in! All are welcome here.

The question this podcast tries to answer: What is the greatest bad movie starring The Rock? Make your voices known! While we mull that one over, we also briefly discuss Intelligent Life and Krig Rwar (yes, Steve is forever banned from saying comic titles on this podcast) and then get into some tribal fighting with Hominids. Pick your side wisely (hint: one has constantly topless females).

To satisfy your webcomics cravings, we chat briefly about Agnes Quill and Skullchaser before dissecting the gamer-centric comic, PLOX. Speaking of dissecting, the bug talk in the midshow gets creepy and gnarly. You've been warned.

It's World Cup time, and we care about the U.S. team's chances in this year's tournament! Until they lose, of course. Then we go back to not caring about soccer, along with every other American sports fan. One thing we will always care about is the comic, Digger. After we chat briefly about Solo and Samurai Genji, we go deep and discover more charming things about this can't-miss piece of work.

Wonder Twin powers… ACTIVATE! Form of… webcomics podcast! When we're done waxing nostalgic about the relative ancient history of comic book-inspired animated TV series, we take turns peeking at Star Spun and Doctor Magnifico. After a break involving creating yet another character for Jason to live vicariously through, we help fight the good fight on the side of the GOOD demons as we review Demon Kings.
