Strange Highways

This week Terry and Paul go looking for Chocopoppers and meet Penny, a very stressed out housewife that is trying manage four young children, a constantly barking dog, and an apathetic husband. All she wants is a little time for herself and for the noise of life to go away.  After discovering a necklace with a sundial on it, Penny may have found a way to do just that... 

This week Terry and Paul start their journey into the 1980's edition of the Twilight Zone by going to a bar with easily breakable mirrors and meet Mr. Peter Novins, a business man who is not a good person. After an accidental misdialing of a telephone, Peter will soon find out what kind of a man he is...

This week Terry and Paul get into the holiday spirt and meet Elizabeth, a wife who's only holiday wish is to be rid of her husband and does so in quick fashion with a fireplace poker. Just when she thinks she is about to get away with her crime, a murderous Santa Claus appears to complicate things....  Have a good holiday and see you in 2022 for the start of the 1980's Twilight Zone! 

This week Terry and Paul travel to Hulu's Monsterland and visit Newark, NJ, the location of The Fall: an event where blue beings that people are calling angels have been dropping from the sky without explanation, and meet Brian and Amy Cooke, a couple falling apart in the wake of the kidnapping of their daughter. Amy is trying to find a way forward but Brian keeps living in the past, holding out hope for their child's return. This changes after a chance meeting with an angel...

This week Terry and Paul grab a hammer to break into an old mansion and meet four teenagers as they start to play The Match Game. One by one, they light a match and make up a scary story but soon find out that fiction is becoming reality...

This week Terry and Paul meet Mr. Kirby Sweetman, a man who has just as much debt as he does guilt, when he is given an offer too good to refuse. He has been tasked with finding a film of legend that affects all in strange and brutal ways even before they set eyes on it...

This week Terry and Paul are joined by special guest James to talk about 1975's The Devil's Rain. It's a film that has many Twilight Zone connections, Ernest Borgnine, a bunch of melting people, and the founder of the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey. Then it gets weird... 

This week Terry and Paul finish up season 3 of Creepshow by heading the US/Canada border to get some questionable pills and meet one of the most unusual monsters ever seen in 'Drug Traffic' and then they head back to a very familiar night in 1968 and see how a town deals with justice in the face of the apocalypse in 'A Dead Girl Named Sue.'

This week Terry and Paul discover a wardrobe that has time bending properties but it comes at a cost in 'Time Out,' and then they get animated while trying to uncover 'The Things in Oakwood's Past.' 

This week Terry and Paul open the door for each other before being compelled by mysterious singing to head down the street on the worst first date in 'Stranger Sings,' and then they ride out into the very orange horizon to fight a plague or demons, or a demon plague in 'Meter Reader.'

This week Terry and Paul pretend to be art snobs and sneak into a private viewing of 'The Last Tsuburaya' and learn that just because you can buy something, doesn't mean you should, and then they go behind bars to meet Mr. Elmer Strick, a man who's only friends are his spiders in 'Okay, I'll Bite.' 

This week Terry and Paul stop by a movie prop museum and learn the true cost of collecting in 'Skeletons in the Closet' and then they go a get their fortunes read only to learn something sinister followed them there in 'Familiar.' Lesson learned: make sure you have a sacred crate handy at all times.  

This week Terry and Paul start Season 3 of Shudder's horror anthology series Creepshow. 'Mums' is about a young man in a abusive home tending to his missing mother's garden and happens when he plants some oddly sharp seeds. 'Queen Bee' is about how far three mega fans will go to see their popstar idol give birth. Come along with us for some spooky and goopy fun!

This week Terry and Paul eat some really stale cake and take a detour into 1957's The Incredible Shrinking Man. Mr. Scott Carey has a problem, he is getting smaller by the moment and there is no cure. As his frame shrinks, his problems only get bigger and bigger...

This week Terry and Paul are joined by Steve from the Invasion of the Podcast to talk about 1983's Twilight Zone: The Movie. Does the spirit of the original series translate well to the big screen? Bonus: one of the most random paragraphs you will ever hear read aloud comes courtesy of Twilight Zone: The Movie: The Book.

This week Terry and Paul somehow get fired by Mr. Wallace V. Whipple even though they don't work for him.  Wallace believes that key to efficiency and profit is through computers and automation. He doesn't see a downside to replacing everyone around him with machines...
