Skiing in Vermont didn't quite make it into June as planned, though it really did look like we'd make it all the way to July just a month ago! Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing from all new albums for the show. Big Country Bluegrass put out Country Livin' back in March. Della Mae released their self-titled album on May 12th. And we got two sneak peaks into upcoming releases: The Steeldrivers's The Muscle Shoals Recordings will be on the shelves June 16th and Dale Ann Bradley will release Pocket Full of Keys on June 9th. "I must say. I went to one of the best shows I've been at for a long time last Wednesday night. Three Vermont bands and one from Massachusetts, but it wasn't Bluegrass. It was 242 main street's 30th anniversary show making it the oldest "all ages" venue in America. The event was substance free. It has always been a hardcore and punk venue playing an array of VT, east coast and some national groups like the Foodstamps, the River City Rebels and even Reel Big Fish. I frequented 242 in Burlington Vermont during high school but admit I haven't been there since. The night opened up with Bruise Box, a Youth Garage Punk Band out of Burlington Vermont. Burlington Hardcore band As We Were followed. Rutland Vermont's own Get A Grip put it up and Bane, Massachusetts Hardcore legends, finished it off. Local. Intense. Circle Pit. "Autumn is in full bloom here in VT and ski season is right around the corner! I just ran into my friends in the Bondville Boys a couple weeks ago at the Vermont Cider Festival in Killington, VT. A few weeks back I had the pleasure to hear Spirit Family Reunion live at the Hop Jam up in Bolton, VT while enjoying various hoppy pints and hiking up to the windmill with my Uncle!
