In 2004 I moved to the mid-west to be the person I thought I would spend the rest of my life with.   The relationship quickly soured, he was jealous, possessive moody, a chronic liar, emotionally abusive, and eventually physically abusive. I lost any confidence I had in myself. I had been an actress and performer, and an artist, and after several years with him, I was a broken person, too scared to even leave the house. Depression and fear we retaking over my life.  I wanted more than anything to learn to ballroom dance, there was a studio close to my home and it took years to build up courage enough to walk in those doors.  Dancing was the beginning of me finding my way back to myself. I became a professional ballroom dance instructor 8 months after my first lesson.  I have been a professional ballroom dancer since 2010 (covid has changed that). I have also been a burlesque dancer and was the creative director and choreographer of a burlesque troupe for 5 years.  I published my

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago with an older brother and a younger sister and I always seemed to be the peacemaker, the one always trying to make other people happy. Because if other people were happy, I would be happy. I served in the military from 1998 to 2002 on active duty and 2 additional years in WA National Guard. The military made me grow up fast and enjoy the suck. If it ain't raining, we ain't training. From August 2002 to Sept 2017 I worked with the same company that started selling Yellowpages which moved to internet marketing. While working there I met an amazing man who believed in me enough to bring me into his and his wife's marketing company. 2 years ago I became a vested partner and absolutely love what I do, which is helping people. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD in a family that struggled with poverty for generations. My dad left when I was 8 years old and it forced my mom to take care of me and my brother on a $13k/year disability income.   Growing up in my neighborhood, its an unspoken belief that the only way "out" is to 1 of 3 options: Become a successful athlete Become an entertainer (rapper, singer, dancer, actor, etc) Or sell Drugs.    I chose option 1 but fell short of making it to the NFL. However, along the way I was able to become the first student in my high school's history (Chesapeake High School - BC) to ever earn a D1 scholarship. I was born with cerebral palsy and it was so bad, that the doctors told my mom I was not going to be able to walk. Thank goodness for a strong mom and a great mindset that wasn't my story. For the first ten years of my life, I was in physical therapy. It was not easy I was bullied and teased throughout my childhood. I made a goal for myself to make the varsity high school baseball team. I would practice every single day I was able to make it a reality. As an adult, I got into mortgage loan sales and I was very successful. But I had a different calling, I wanted to help people reach their goals, so I became a life coach. In my early years, I dealt with my birth parents mental health  - at 5 they joined what I grew up thinking was a normal church, but as an adult learned was a cult -experienced emotional and physical abuse -was kicked out at 18 - met my husband (he is an autist but was diagnosed at 40 years old) - struggled to integrate into the real world culminating in multiple suicide attempts and poor mental health in my early 20s. -started dieting at 18 when I was told I was too fat (in reality I weighed 140lbs) - married husband. -experienced infertility - had an accident in 2009 in which face, neck, and airways were burned with steam - got poorly after, ended up in a wheelchair facing not walking -am stubborn - not only walked again but ran. - fostered - was set to adopt 2 foster children but the British system deemed me too overweight and so was denied at the last court date.   - transformed my health and fitness for me.   Losing over 125lbs.  Now qualified as a weightlifting and strength a

My parents used 2 different contraceptives to avoid having a 7th child, I came anyway, lol! I am what is called a divine birth. From the final push from my mother's womb into this world, I never felt like I belonged. Why Write  The reason I write goes way back to my childhood. My earliest memories are of my mother reading to me. When I could read on my own, I devoured the Hardy Boys series. When I was about ten, when my reading material was getting low, I’d take the bus from our house to Kensington used bookstore. I graduated from the Hardy Boys to Ellery Queen, Earl Stanley Gardner, and Agatha Christie. In high school, I loved writing reports in social studies class and in English class I wrote satire. Saturday Night Live stuff, except this was before SNL!  Then career got in the way, but I co-authored four paramedic textbooks. In 2010, I was going through a major life change. One morning in October, I was showering and had an epiphany. I needed to write fiction. I Googled writing classes and one started the next week.
