Sylvia Global meets with Washington, D.C. - based Susan Taylor Batten, CEO and President of the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE). Sylvia Global travels to Girls Fly! in Tucson, Arizona. Sylvia Global meets in New York with YaliniDream.  One of the Sri Lankan Diaspora's most prominent dissident performing artists, YaliniDream challenges the notions of the seemingly impossible by reshaping reality and seeking peace through justice.  Politically astute and culturally enlightened, listen as she reveals the power of dreams and the importance of being an advocate in communities that stretch around the globe. She conjures spirit through her unique blend of poetry, theater, song and dance as an aerial dancer.

Sylvia Global arrives in New York to meet with Sayu Bhojwani, Founding Director of The New American Leaders Project (NALP),  the only national organization specifically focused on preparing first- and second-generation immigrants for civic leadership. Sayu Bhojwani served as New York City’s first Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, from 2002 to 2004. During her tenure as Commissioner, New York City established Immigrant Heritage Week to honor the contributions and cultures of immigrant communities in the City.
