Feeling + Feelings Collocations
27/09/2023 Duração: 07minA student asked me when we use the word feeling (singular) vs. feelings (plural), like in the sentence “I can certainly understand your feeling / feelings.” The most natural choice here is feelings, because we use the plural form when it’s a substitute for the word "emotions" in general. We use the word feeling, singular, when we’re talking about one specific feeling. It’s usually modified with an adjective - an amazing feeling, a terrible feeling, etc. In today's lesson you'll expand your vocabulary by learning collocations with the words feeling and feelings. These are combinations of words that are often used together - and learning them will help you speak English more easily and naturally. I have two great ways for you to learn lots more collocations fast: One is my e-book, 1000 Collocations in 10 Minutes a Day, which is great for intermediate learners. The other one is my Advanced Vocabulary and Collocations Course, which is perfect for more experienced English learners. Click on each link for mo

How to keep a conversation going (with examples!)
13/09/2023 Duração: 06minIn the last lesson, you learned how to start a conversation in English. In this lesson, you will learn how to keep a conversation going - with examples! If you like learning English from conversations, then you will LOVE my Everyday English Speaking Courses, because each lesson is based on a dialogue. This is a very effective way to learn English phrases in context. I think some English learners can be a little afraid of having conversations because they’re afraid they’ll have to speak for a long time. But as you can see from these examples, each person just says one or two sentences, and then it’s the other person’s turn to speak. It’s a balanced interaction - a conversation involves taking turns, not just one person talking on and on for a long time. So don’t be scared to have conversations in English! I know you can do it, and remembering the tips from this video will really help you. Of course, it’s even easier to have conversations when you know lots of phrases to express yourself! You can learn them
