Who is Jesus? Is He really God or just a mere human that somewhere along the way go the title of God? As Christians, we affirm Jesus' divinity, the world we live in does not. We live in a culture that often questions the validity of this claim, and goes as far as devaluing or even denying it. So how can we be sure of who He is? Just like we do today, Daniel lived in a time where the people around him, denied that his God was truly God and even passed laws to prevent him from worshiping God. However, Daniel never wavered in his devotion to God. In this latest sermon, we will look at Daniel to see how we too may be faithful to God in a time when no one else is.

As Christians, we often face a daunting amount of pressure in regards to our faith. At times, we may be face with the choice of giving in to the demands of society or facing the consequences of choosing our faith. Life challenges each of us in unique ways. At times, it seems like all is good and so life is peaceful. Then there are the moments that wreak havoc and bring us pain. At times, when life is good and prosperous, we fall to the temptation of believing that we are the architects of our prosperity instead as a blessing from God. And in times of bad, we may mistakenly respond in anger and frustration to our circumstances instead of God leading us to a deeper reliance on Him. In both situations, it can be easy to miss God callings us back to Him. So why do we respond in such ways when God in His word calls us to live differently? In this last sermon, we explore the tale of two kings and how they responded in their times of good and bad. As a culture, we are consumers who buy, experience, read, listen, and enjoy unlike any other. Sometimes, we allow this culture to make its way into church. We live in a world where anxiety abounds. Whether it is regarding our future, our finances, our safety, or a myriad of other reasons, we have plenty to be anxious about. So, how do we deal with anxiety? While there are thousands of resources available to us on the web, in bookstores, and at doctors offices, these practices only lead to a temporary fix and often, we find ourselves being anxious about something else. If so, are we destined as people, especially as followers of Jesus, to be merely "anxiety-tolerant" or is there victory over anxiety? The Apostle Paul offers us another perspective and encourages us to live anxiety-free lives. As believers, the Bible plays a strong role and has much to say about how we live our lives. However, there are times when the Bible hits us hard. It challenges us to change how we are living. How do you live with what you have? Our wealth and possessions are an expression of God’s kindness to us. However, at times we may misuse what God has blessed us with, placing more value on our riches than on the people He has placed in our lives. Our focus sometimes shifts from a reliance on God to our own abilities to accumulate and keep our wealth. We become people focused only on our present circumstances. So how do we as Christians handle wealth and the blessings God has given us? How do we live lives that follow what God's design for life? Join us as explore what James has to say about this in our latest sermon series.

Are you a planner? We may do it differently and use various methods, but in one way or another we all like to have a plan. We set reminders on our phones and mark appointments on our calendars. We have retirement plans in order and college funds funded. We are planners. But, how do we as Christians approach planning? Does God have anything to say about our plans and how we make them? How does our faith interact with our desire to plan?

We have all experienced conflict in many areas of our lives. Be it at home within the family, with your spouse, on the job, or with friends, it is a reality that we live with. All too often, we experience conflict within the church too. These conflicts do not represent Christ well. So, how do understand conflict and what hope do we have of reducing it? Have you ever said something that made someone's day? Or uttered some misplaced words that led to bad consequences. Our words are more powerful than we realize. Our tongues are a small part of our physical body, but has incredible control over all aspects of our lives through what we say. So how do we maintain control over our tongue before it controls us? How do we live lives where our words bring God glory and not dishonor? In the book of James, he addresses the relationship between our words and our faith.
