My parents were told that I would not live very long and if so, I would remain a vegetable confined to a wheelchair dependent on others for the rest of my life. In 2011, I was named Ambassador of Change through the Broward Children Center and Leadership Broward Program for educating young children in the second grade about disabilities, with the hope of decreasing bullying in the schools.
