This series in 1 Timothy will emphasize inter-generational relationships and how the two can work together to create lasting leadership, or Pillars, in the Church. This message sees the pillar as necessary for supporting the church family. The church today looks like the dysfunctional families in our society. Each member needs support from its leadership, and the leadership from its members. When an experienced generation chooses to support a younger generation, as Paul does for Timothy through the writing of this letter, we will see new pillars supporting a growing, functional family.

This year, we precede Christmas with a world of bad news, great sorrow, and violence. A stark contrast to the typical story of glad tidings of great joy and peace on earth. Refugees seek home. Terrorism senselessly murders. Is the Christmas story mere wishful thinking? How does its message harmonize with the reality of the world?

The series in 1 Timothy will emphasis inter-generational relationships and how the two can work together to create lasting leadership, or Pillars, in the Church. This message sees the pillar as grounded in godliness. Godliness is not a flying high, too good for the world, up-in-heaven kind of spirituality. Rather, godliness is a walk on earth, part of humans and creation, down-to-earth kind of spirituality. Much like the incarnation of Jesus.

This message probes at the two halves of life, why many fail to reach phase two and live adolescent adulthood, and how knowing the difference between the two is essential to finding place and purpose for old and young together in Kingdom work.

When it comes to spiritual warfare, people tend to respond either skeptically or emphatically. In Ephesians 6, we learn a proper way to view, and engage in, spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is not what happens to us, but how we respond to what happens to us. As everything leading up to this passage has emphasized, we are in a perfect position in Jesus. Therefore, when it comes to spiritual warfare, we are to stand.

After describing our inheritance (the lay of the land and how we enter it), Paul encourages us to walk through it and settle our lives in it.
