1 Peter 1:13-16. God has called us to live a holy life, because He is holy. Unfortunately, many of us fall into the same sins over and over again. Peter gives us instruction on how to keep from falling into the same sins again and again.

1 Timothy 4:12-14. Church is important to our day to day lives. As Christians, church is not optional, it is required. Why? Because the right church will help you grow in your faith and walk with Jesus. The right church will feed your hunger for God’s word. The right church will accurately teach and preach what the Bible says, helping you use your gift that God has given to you.

1 Kings 19 selected verses. Elijah just had a spiritual lift. And the next moment he was running for his life. When God calls you to do something, you can believe and trust that God will see that it gets done. No matter how much the devil huffs, puffs and breathes fire, the will of God will be done. So today, are you living in and doing the will of God, or are you hiding somewhere because the devil scared you?

1 Peter 4:10. God has given each of us a gift to use to bring glory to Him. Do you know what your gift or gifts are? Are you using them?

Nehemiah 8:13-18. They entered the second day of hearing and understanding the book of the Law of God. This time, though, they discovered a feast that they were to take part in each year, that they had not done in many, many years. Their disobedience became obedience when they immediately began preparations for the feast. Let me ask you this, when you read from the Bible, or hear a sermon or teaching on the Bible, do you become obedient to what the Word says?

Nehemiah 8:10. After asking Ezra to read the book of the Law, the returning captives wept at the words they heard. They wanted to get right with God because their disobedience lead to 70 years as captives in Babylon. Now, Nehemiah was teaching them that their joy in the Lord is the strength they need to live for God. It’s the same thing for us. Our joy in the Lord is our strength we need to live for Him despite the circumstances we face each day.

Matthew 26:36-44. We studied this week on people who stopped too soon. Today, we look at the One who didn’t. That’s right, Jesus. Could He have stopped too soon and walked away? I believe He could have, but He did not. He finished His course. And He accomplished it by praying “not as I will, but as thou wilt.” We need to pray like that. Take time out each day and pray like Jesus that God’s will will be done in your life each day, and then follow Him right to the finish line.

Acts 24:24-25. Felix was a man just like most of us. He heard the Gospel preached by Paul himself. But waited for a better time. He stopped short of receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior. So many of us today do the same thing. We want to live our lives and then turn it all over to Jesus and “get right.” Friends, don’t wait till it’s too late. Today is the day of salvation.

Genesis 25:29-34. Esau was a hungry man. So hungry, in fact, that his birthright had no value

Numbers 32:5-7, 15-22. Some of the tribes of Israel wanted their inheritance to be on the other side of the Jordan from the rest. They stopped just short of the blessing of God. How often do we stop just short because we want to stay in the place we liked, or stay in our comfort zone? Sometimes God’s greatest blessings happen when we come out of our comfort zone.

Genesis 11:31, 12:1-4. How many times have we stopped just short of where God wants us to be? How any times do we continue to dwell in the place we stopped at instead of going on to the place where God wants us? Had Abram not followed God’s instructions, he would never have received His promise, and we probably would not have even heard of him today. Don’t dwell where God never intended you to dwell, push on and go to the place where your blessing awaits.

John 20:24-29

Luke 9:24.

Luke 9:61-62. As much as I don’t want to say this, sometimes our families and friends become a barrier to our faith. They can also be a contributor to helping build a strong faith.

Luke 9:59-60. God has called each of us into a relationship with Him. The question is this, have you answered that call? Are you doing what God has called you to do, or are you telling Him “Tomorrow, Lord.” Whatever God has called you to do, do it NOW, right now. Don’t delay, don’t put it off till it’s more convenient for you. Do the call.

Luke 9:57-58, 2 Corinthians 8:9-12. If you want to build a rock solid faith in Jesus, then you must understand what you are getting into. Living the Christian life is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard, it is troublesome. But, you always have your Heavenly Father there to give you strength and help when needed.

Psalm 12:8, 1 Kings 19:9, 18. No doubt about it, the wicked are all around us. So much so that, at times, we may feel all alone, isolated from other Christian’s. We may even feel that we are the only ones left. But we are not, God wants us to stand firm in spite of what is happening around us.

Psalm 12:6-7, Psalm 19:14. We see a big contrast between the words of men and the word of God. We need to make sure that our words are pleasing to God and just as pure as His words are. How is your speech today?

Psalm 12:5. Make no mistake about this one thing. God will stand and protect those who need protecting from their oppressors. You may be getting away with sin right now, but God will arise, and will step in. Here is an interesting stat that I shared in this episode. When a Mom comes to Christ, her family will join her in church 17% of the time. If a Dad comes to Christ, his family joins him at church 93% of the time. God wants His Godly men back.

Psalm 12:3-4, John 15:2, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. In these verses, we see the judgement of God on those who have fallen away from Him. The tongue boasts a great many things, none of which is true. Confess your sin and get back to things with God.
