From Hell Part 1
16/05/2017 Duração: 01h18minOk, pod fans, this is a tough one to synopsize. Your favorite smarty pants podcasters are here this week to talk about Moore and Campbell's From Hell, the 1989 classic of graphic novels. Frankly, any introduction to a conversation about it would be as laborious and ranging as the book itself. And much like the story of From Hell eviscerates the JTR myth, so too does this conversation, thanks to the insight of Riley, Claire, and Brogan. And just like From Hell, this episode is not the definitive word on the comic, but is instead many words said about it which try to explain one perspective on it. Topics include themes and goals of the book, misogyny, Campbell's art style, Moore's writing in general, world comics contemporaneous to the release of FH, and if Gull was a character in a D&D campaign. The next episode will cover the 2001 failed adaptation of From Hell by the Hughes Brothers, a film that stars Johnny Depp at his most Deppish. Don't expect this film to get much love from your favorite podcas
