Ayo visited our Civil Rights and Criminal Justice panel at the Houston Peace & Justice Center and amplified our message on race & economics. The Houston Peace & Justice Center was conducting a panel titled “What’s Up – ¿¡Qué Pasa!?” It was a bilingual panel discussion on Civil Rights & criminal justice. We had a healthy discussion on the Poor People’s campaign, where a panelist discussed our economic state. We would also spend some time discussing several voter rights issues. As we discussed race and economics, a comment drew the ears of Ayo, a High School student who was listening in on the panel. It turned out she had the most important statement on the panel. A pastor believes the Democratic Party and Progressives are using Black people for an ulterior motive. On the infrastructure bill, all or nothing. He came to the conclusion that there is a deliberate attempt by the liberal left and progressive movement to use the black community as a hammer against the system.
