I read a Houston Chronicle article on Sunday that got to me because of the effective subtleness of its article on churches not paying taxes on luxurious homes for preachers and clergy. We all know who owns the richest churches. Yet the article did and every underhanded thing. It chose a black and Latino clergy by name as they abstracted the evil deeds of others. But it gets worse. They highlighted two preachers, both with checkered practices, as bastions who pay taxes on their expensive properties. This is partly how the media creates racists. Hal H.
