Accounts at Silicon Valley Bank over $250,000 will be made whole. That is a bailout since the FDIC only insured them for $250,000. Whether there will be an influx of taxpayer dollars or some sort of monetary and fiscal shenanigans is another matter. The “geniuses” who run our economy, the titans of finance, do what they do best. They gamble our money. They sneer at regulations that protect the taxpayers from their ineptitude and faux-libertarian stance. They ultimately fail because our private finance sector is nothing but a deck of cards that ultimately falls. And then they beg for a bailout. One must remember that Silicon Valley Bank lobbied Congress to remove banks of around their size from the type of stress testing major banks must go through. Trump signed the law. Now the bank has failed after making investments that are expected of these titans of finance. Jobs Report: We had another blockbuster job report. One would think that the Biden administration would be getting supreme praise. And guess what? Our titans of finance hate it. It means they must pay employees a bit more because the American worker has some leverage. Wall Street expected 225,000 jobs. Instead, 311,000 were created. My cataract experience: I have had cataracts for over five years. I hate interfacing with our healthcare system. As such, I only visit doctors or clinics as a last resort. I don’t eat a lot of meat. I exercise — most times at 1 AM, three to four times a week. I don’t drink or smoke. Suffice it to say, the upsell of my choices and the cost continue to prove we have a failed healthcare system. Worse, if you have a lot of money, we give you great healthcare. For the rest, they do the minimum. These are not bad people in the office I went to at all. I watched Chris Rock on Netflix this morning. It was clear that the Will Smith slap at the Oscars has affected Chris Rock’s comedy. He was not as naturally funny as he normally is, IMHO. He went really hard on Jada Pinkett Smith as well, though I think he was harder on her than on Will Smith, which I think opens the door for some sexism concerns. That said, it was Chris Rock who was initially harmed. Chris Rock displayed a great degree of restraint when Smith slapped him. Rock points out that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith got on the internet and exposed their entire life but then got upset when he made a simple joke about her hair. The title of the skit was apropos, Selective Outrage. It was Selective Outrage that he went at Rock while not challenging the scores of people who have pointed out how weak Smith is.
