I am bewildered by the TikTok hoopla. It is clear the Congresspersons know absolutely nothing that they are talking about. I find it ironic that we are quick to jump on foreign companies like #TikTok but do not do so on foreign companies that truly cause Americans harm. If you doubt me, you simply need to listen to Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who confirmed at a hearing with Elizabeth Warren that he is raising interest rates to increase unemployment by more than 2 million workers to reduce inflation. The fact is that corporate greed, as Congresswoman Katie Porter pointed out, is responsible for more than 50% of inflation. While I understand that President Biden HAD to bail these banks out. Instead of stressing that it is not a bailout or would not affect taxpayers, he should have talked about regulating the financial sector so they would stop the soil-wash-rinse-repeat cycle.
