We will be looking at Luke 19 and a very familiar story to many - the story of Zaccheaus the tax collector who had an encounter with Jesus and his life was turned upside down. He changed! There is something powerful about singing.  We are creatures that need to and love to be around music and participate in it at some level.  Singing has the power to unite us, to comfort us and to combat demon oppression.  Our praise and worship to God is not based on our feelings, emotions or our circumstances, we praise and we sing in response to what God is doing and to who He is. It's time for us as the body of Christ to grow in this, that we might be known as a church that expresses its love to the Lord boastfully and loudly in song. Hannah is an incredible woman and we’re going to walk through her story in 1 Samuel 1. She experiences heartache and suffering yet gives us a means to process such pain.  We, especially in the western world, can process our pain in unhealthy ways by things like suppressing, blaming, transference or even projecting on social media. In a plant’s life cycle, producing fruit is the last phase, while developing a root system comes first and is essential to producing fruit. How many times have we worked to change our eating habits or gone to the gym to get into better shape, but soon reverted back to our old ways? Or how many times have we worked to be more like Jesus in our workplace or in our home but found that we weren’t able to keep it up? Do we just need more willpower or discipline, or is the issue deeper? In Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul challenges us to root ourselves in the love of God and let the fruit speak for itself. Pride can be defined as a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.   Pride is a pain. While we are often affected by it, we may not be aware of it or how it is showing up in our life. Why is that? Where is pride affecting your life? How do you address it? Pride is often the true reason why we get our feelings hurt, why we feel rejection, why we won’t admit our mistakes, why we want to be seen with certain people, and why we stay angry.
