GI Joburg presents its penultimate review of The Revenge Of Cobra. Things are hotting up as a major plot twist rocks our heroes... and villains. And we find out exactly why you should always pack your ice skates when you plan to do battle in the frozen north. 

It's time for your daily dose of GI Joburg! And today the team sink their teeth into the third part of The Revenge Of Cobra entitled the Temple... er... 'Palace' Of Doom. It's full of cougars and jailbait, 'Peedo and GH, and a whole lot of HObra!

It's the big FOUR-ZERO for GI Joburg. And it's a double celebration as we offer our review of episode two of The Revenge Of Cobra on its 30th birthday. Whew!  Yo Joe! And that was a Sunbow "Yo Joe", by the way. The Yo Joeiest Yo Joe you're ever likely to find.

Today 30 years ago GI Joe: The Revenge Of Cobra aired for the first time. You may of course know it by it's street name: 'The Weather Dominator'. The five-part miniseries followed almost exactly a year to the day on the heels of the first GI Joe miniseries, The Adventures Of GI Joe. Or 'Mass Device'. It would appear Sunbow and Marvel had managed trap lightening in a bottle. With new characters, new weapons and equipment and superb production, she's as worthy a topic to podcast as any. So to mark it's 30th anniversary, GI Joburg discusses each episode in turn for the following five days. We kick it off today with episode 1, "In The Cobra's Pit".  Watch the 'toon. Everybody has elements of GI Joe they dislike. Everybody. For Rob, it’s the Dreadnoks. For Paul, Battleforce: 2000 gets his ire; for Steve, mention of the D.E.F makes him vomit in his mouth a little. The challenge for episode 37? Try and say something nice about these personal peeves. Try. Try real hard. Also, Paul gets acquainted with his 50th anniversary Night Viper and airs his nitpicks. And remember: real heroes don’t do drugs.

Jeeps. GI Joe has a fair number of them. Some of them sporting spring-loaded missile-firing action, or colour-change features, or packaged with a dinosaur... but they are all enduring and fun toys. From series one of A Real American Hero to Retaliation and beyond, the simple joy of loading up a vehicle with figures and crushing some rough terrain is something all fans share. But it begs the question: Which GI Joe combat jeep is the finest of the lot?  The debate rages...

Flying Hairdryers; split-apart aircraft; colour-changing jeeps; tanks that turn into helicopters; bouncing ballistic battle balls...  GI Joe: A Real American Hero was a toyline with a healthy dose of off-the-wall toy concepts. But some of the craziest ideas to be found actually have some basis in reality. Paul, Rob and Steve showcase three concepts that straddle the gap between science fiction and science fact.

The great Sideshow debate rages.  The Dolly Lama AKA Paul and Sideshow Bob AKA Rob are tasked with convincing Steve that Sideshow Collectibles' GI Joe Series is worth adding to his collection. In other news: Are Duke and Buzzer the same person? Tune in. Find answers...

It's time to revisit our famous battles topic to see if the Joes can come back from their 3-2 defeat... In this episode Paul, Rob and Steve debate GI Joe and Cobra's best hopes for domination in the aquatic and arctic arenas. It is also with great pride that they announce GI Joburg's entry into the world YouTube video reviews.  Do you own an Avalanche snow tank or Shark 9000? Should you? These battles always succeed in getting us fired up about these toys. There's a sneaking suspicion you will be too. Get your Joes. It's payback time.

The fog of Retaliation is lifting and truly spectacular toys are making a return. GI Joburg chimes in with their top three GI Do's and GI Don'ts for the future of their beloved toyline. Paul defends his statue buying and the first hints of GI Joburg's exciting new adventure are dropped. Fly your freak flag high, Joes!
