Jeff Hafley appears to have a very different philosophy than Joe Barry in almost every way he can. This new defensive staff appears to be a press man CB's dream. One thing seems certain, the aggression level is going up. With the offense looking primed to continue the success they found in the second half of 2023, if the defense can improve, even in the slightest, this team may be headed for a Super Bowl next season. All the boxes that needed to get checked, have been checked. Hiring a new DC doesn't count, because that's the first item on 2024's list. You have a franchise QB, a future LT and RT, playmakers on both sides of the ball, and as a bonus they all have playoff experience now. It may have been a disappointing end, but don't let that make you forget the overall success the season was. If that isn't enough, the GM might be the best in the league right now. "When all the laughter dies in sorrow…” While the end of the Packers season is not as fraught as the Lance Rentzel memoir, it certainly stung. But why? Green Bay was playing with the proverbial “house money,” was it not? The post-season was a surprise gift, right? So, shouldn't this one be easily set aside as just a learning experience on the way to certain improvement next season and a string of playoff appearances thereafter? Playing with house money. There's no pressure. We're not even supposed to be here. Right? That sentiment was valid going into the 49ers game. Playoffs? Hell, yeah! The Packers beat the Chicago Bears to advance to the post-season and finish with a winning 9-8 record. Green Bay fans are euphoric, but a match-up with the Cowboys in Dallas might change the mood. Still, Chris and Dave note that the Packers are playing with House Money (something that never happens at the Packers Therapy Hotel and Casino), so they really can't lose. There were a lot of valid reasons for Packers fans to not believe this team would be in the playoffs this season. Most of us were just hoping to know if Jordan Love was the guy or not.  Spoiler alert - Jordan Love is the guy, and the youngest team in the league belongs in the playoffs.  Now is not the time for perfection seeking and nitpicking. This Packers team is not perfect, but they are far ahead of where we thought they would be at this point. Now is the time to enjoy watching Packers playoff football.  For a rare moment, whatever happens next doesn't matter.
