    The Hawkeyes fell to Michigan on Saturday night in the Big Ten title game. We open this edition of the Chuck Long Podcast discussing the result of the contest with the Iowa legend. Can you teach pocket awareness or are you just who you are when it comes to that area of the game?  Then we talk about the match-up with Tennessee and their head coach Josh Heupel. Back in 2000, Long was the quarterback coach at Oklahoma and actually coached Heupel to a runner-up finish for the Heisman Trophy. He talks about how detail oriented he was as a player and why he is not surprised that Heupel has become a good coach. We also discuss the unique line splits that Tennessee will use and why they line up the way they do.  Finally we talk about the bowl prep for Iowa and giving players time off and other getting more work in practice and also the decisions by the college football playoff committee and if they made the right call of Alabama ahead of Florida State.

What we saw on Saturday with Brian Ferentz and a salute to Joe Evans for his leadership with this Iowa team.     The Iowa women's basketball team knocked off Virginia Tech in Charlotte on Thursday night. It was a huge win for the Hawkeyes and another magical performance from Caitlin Clark and her teammates.  So, we thought let's talk about the 80-76 win on the podcast. We discuss the play of Clark and key plays from her teammates in the win over a fellow top ten squad. We highlight a huge stretch for Kylie Feuerbach, who had eight points in a short stretch, a strong performance before foul trouble from Hannah Stuelke, and a big defensive stop from Gabbie Marshall.  We also discuss, could Iowa be in line to move up to #1 in the country when the next poll comes out and their upcoming trip to Cedar Falls to play Northern Iowa on Sunday.  Then we talk a little field hockey as Iowa faces Louisville in Evanston on Friday in the NCAA Tournament. Also the Iowa women's soccer team hosts Bucknell in the NCAA soccer tournament on Friday evening in Iowa City. We preview both games.
