Dave Tomlinson says for the hockey enthusiast, Canada and US for gold will be a battle of two very skilled teams trying to outduel each other at a high level. Dave adds that Bowen Byram, Vancouver Giants defenceman & Colorado prospect, is the best defenceman at the World Juniors.

TSN1040’s Jeff Paterson says day 2 at training camp had a lot of coaching from Travis Green but on day 3, it’s about upping the intensity in drills. Jeff also says not having played in 11 months could be good for Travis Hamonic as he’s been plagued with injury.

TSN’s Farhan Lalji says he does expect Nils Höglander to get legitimate opportunity because the Canucks need to know if they have any other offensive options for their top 6. Farhan also doesn’t expect the Canucks to turn to Loui Eriksson unless they’re forced to.

Craig Button was on Donnie & The Moj to discuss the Edmonton bubble for the World Juniors, all things Canucks + more. He spoke on Travis Hamonic's PTO with Vancouver and believes he can be a competitive 3rd pair d-man but 2nd pair might be tough for him.

Ian Furness from Seattle hopped on 1040 to chat about the Seahawks end to the season and preview their playoff clash with the Rams. Furness believes if Rams QB Jared Goff can't play, Seattle become heavy favourites. He also touched on the contributions of Tyler Lockett & D.K. Metcalf.

Jeff Paterson joined TSN 1040 after the Group A session at Canucks on-ice training camp. He said he wasn't surprised to see Edler/Schmidt paired together but that could change. He is also interested to see where Horvat slides in to the line up after some of the Group A lines raised some questions. He also touched on the experience of Hamonic who is on a PTO.
