Dear John, life goes on – If you buy sovereign bonds.
14/02/2019In the latest Brewin Podcast Ben Gutteridge, Brewin Head of Fund Research, speaks to John Pattullo, co-lead manager on the Janus Henderson Preference and Bond fund. The conversation comes in two parts, analysing current growth and inflation dynamics emanating out of the US and Asia, and what this means for the sovereign bond market. We then move onto to corporate credit to uncover where John sees the most attractive opportunities. In both cases I’m afraid it’s message of caution with John expecting growth and inflationary conditions to continue to sour and for the highest quality bonds, such as sovereigns, to perform best at this stage in the cycle.
