What breaks your heart? What could be that should be? What keeps you up at night? These are questions that draw vision out of us. For the next several weeks we will explore the life of Nehemiah and learn how God helps us discern between “good” ideas and “God” ideas.

There are certain voices that we recognize. For many of us, our father’s voice has a specific tone that stops us in our tracks and demands our attention. We recognize when there is concern, compassion or celebration in his voice. What about our Heavenly Father? Have we learned to identify His voice? Jesus says that ““My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” If he is talking about us then how does that work? If we aren’t hearing his voice, then whose voice are we listening to?

For the last several weeks we have leaned into the Cost of following Jesus. Jesus shared time and time again that leaving things behind was part of moving towards Jesus. Join us this week as Jesus clarifies everything we leave behind is an investment. Jesus clarifies that what we gain is so much greater than anything we could ever give up. All of our hope, all of our need, all of our security is found in Him.

A couple of weeks ago, we started a new sermon series, "The Cost." This week, we we'll finish up this series with "The Cost: Going Public." Jesus taught that if anyone wanted to follow Him, they must pick up their cross daily and follow him. In a culture where a cross was not a friendly symbol, they were painfully aware of what that implied. What does it look like to pick up our cross today? Following Jesus is an amazing journey that changes everything. Join us as we explore some of how Jesus encouraged us to follow him, and truly consider “The Cost”.
