Sega Mixer Drive... With Rexy

Summer is heating up and it's time to take a quick musical dip. This week on SMD, it was Fish Friday - 2 hours of Sega arrange tunes covering either water levels or levels where water is a huge part of its design. Don't forget your wetsuit!

The first regular show of July was big - the Sega arrange setlist included football being placed on the SMD roadmap, hype for Sonic in a cute yet non-Sega game and love for a regular listener's birthday. Oh, and didn't I say this show had gotten BIG...?

Three of RadioSEGA's live shows rotated positions this week, which meant SMD aired on a Thursday instead. That barely placed it at the end of June, which meant the end-of-the-month Mystery Mix was due. This week, the audience got an all-out dance party!

Happy 25th anniversary, Sanic! This week's episode of SMD was all about the fan arranges the Blue Blur got showered with, whether they be old or new. Many bases were covered and represented, so all you need to fight over now is Sonic's eye colour!

This regular SMD packed a great variety of Sega arranges, including a preview from Audio Sprite's new album, a meme in the RS request chart and a terrible soundtrack in the Source Roulette - all that plus even worse fast food promos from Pakistan...

As Euro 2016 begun with host France's first group game, SMD adapted its regular show to the sporting environment with dreams of Sega-related football teams and plenty of not-so-sporty Sega arranges strong enough to hit the back of the net. Goooooal!

This week's SMD regular show welcomed Summer with open (and sunburnt) arms, with Rexy feeling the hype of many events coming their way and the desire of serving Sega-inspired drinks to everyone. At least the tunes here are still... cool, no pun intented!

With Summer coming closer, the SMD Mystery Mix for May took on more of an organic flair - every Sega arrange played tonight were driven by more natural sounding instrumentation. Electronic sounds are minimal in this atmospheric setlist!

After a couple of fun specials, SMD went back into a regular theme this week with the setlist having no limits to games or their origins this time around. It's also where Rexy got in an RPG mood thanks to a certain Nintendo game released this week...

With the Eurovision Song Contest looming this weekend, tonight's SMD setlist focused entirely on arrangers hailing from any of the 40+ competing countries in this year's competition. The chances of anyone getting nil points tonight was very unlikely!

Segata Sanshiro had ordered people to play the Sega Saturn for 21 years, and if you still hadn't played any of its games, let this SMD Saturn special be your guide to its roster and the passionate fans it gained during its time in the gaming market!

What's this? SMD on a Saturday? Even if Rexy's day-to-day life meant a date change this week, it didn't put any dents into April's Mystery Mix. Lock up your smartphones, game systems, MP3 players and other space-age gadgets, because we're going Retro!

This week's regular edition of SMD provided a healthy balance of Sega arrange tunes, nostalgia, vinyl CD pre-orders, the odd technical problem... and sailors. This was also the episode that brought in the demand for a trumpet section in almost EVERYTHING.

Sonic Free Week returned for Season 4! Tonight, the blue blur got benched in favor of representation for a handful of other Sega franchises - and brought up the question as to who WOULD be Sega's mascot if he never existed. How curious!

You thought we scared you last week, didn't you? SMD and RadioSEGA are all in one place after last week's April Fools debacle. Supposedly we were down to earth with another regular show, but a certain summer event would make us jump once again...!

The site formerly known as RadioSEGA went under new management. SSF1991 took the reigns and had the final say as to what the staff members do - including influencing what games Rexy should play remixes for each week. Tonight, it's all PlayStation!

The bad guys are out to play! March's Mystery Mix was all about boss themes - minions, henchmen and main antagonists alike were acknowledged in this 2-hour set - as was a new album release from OC Remix that gave love for a certain green trash compactor!

On this week's regular SMD, the setlist included a Community Spotlight artist close to Rexy's feels, a hilarious forthcoming convention event and lots of remixes new and old to entice the audience - some to give a good night's sleep on World Sleep Day...

NEW ALBUM! Rexy knew she'd hold an album's listening party on SMD this March, but she didn't expect GameLark Records's Supersonic! This 17-track Sonic arrange album got previewed in full in preparation for release the following day. Gotta go fast!

A regular edition of the show may not be the most exciting way to start off RadioSEGA's 10th Anniversary month, but the 2-hour set marked a transition from post-MAGFest depression into pre-Celebration hype. Just don't eat any of the Metal Bread, okay?
