Twas 72 years ago that a Jersey boy was born. He of County Kildare ancestors with names such as Garrity, O'Farrell, McNicholas and Kelly went on to be quite the cool rockin' Daddy in the USA. This week on Windy City Irish Radio the lads celebrate the birthday of The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, featuring songs from Bruce himself with Lúnasa piper extraordinaire Cillian Vallely, Northern Irish rockers The Logues and Solas. As the days of summer are waning and harvest days are upon us, Mike and Tim spin a mix of new and classic Irish songs and tunes.  In a tribute to the late great Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones, the boys spin a Rolling Stones classic by Paul Brady and the Forest Rangers, music from Jiggy, Villagers, Christy Dignam, The Script, Socks in the Frying Pan, John Spillane, David Keenan, We Banjo 3, Ryan Sheridan and Hozier, plus a heartwarming story about Gaelic Storm, The Byrne Brothers and a whole lot of love at the recent Milwaukee Irish Fest.

Nanci Caroline Griffith was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter, raised in Austin, Texas, who split homes in Nashville, Tennessee and Dublin, Ireland.  Griffith appeared many times on the PBS music program Austin City Limits starting in 1985.
